IFC
for Neighborhoods
Creating value in NEIGHBORHOODS is more than just the provision
of goods and services. In today's NEIGHBORHOOD, providing physical
amenities alone is not enough to affect QUALITY OF LIFE AND THE CREATION
OF VALUE FOR RESIDENTS. Creating value extends beyond the physical
to informational, emotional, and even spiritual (beyond oneself) connection.
The Institute For Community offers several programs to create value in neighborhoods. WHETHER YOU LIVE IN AN EXISTING COMMUNITY OR YOU ARE PART OF NEW DEVELOPMENT, the IFC has training and on-site programs focused on creating value.
The IFC has developed a Community Life program creating value in existing communities utilizing technology and asset mapping principles. To visit an active Community Life site go to www.communitylife.info - Go ahead, Get A Life! Community Life!
The IFC has also made efforts to build relationships where people work, specifically for small businesses located in a downtown setting. This research is currently being evaluated to assess how community building among businesses can affect value creation at the local level. To visit a project go to www.communitiesofcommerce.org
