IFC for Municipalities
Municipalities all over the United States are struggling with the generational effects of suburban sprawl. Lack of town centers, shrinking economic development, over-crowding of roads and schools, decrease in community involvement and volunteering, and neighborhoods of strangers are all typical challenges that face municipalities today.
Many municipalities in the path of growth face decisions each day that will effect future generations to come as small towns disappear across America. It is not a matter of when small towns will experience growth, but how they will handle it. The Institute For Community has aligned itself with some of the finest planners in the country in order to assist municipalities to grow or rebuild in a way that promotes sound Town Building, which includes Place-Making, Community Building, and Economic Development.
