Dave Ferguson

Dave Ferguson is a founding pastor of Community Christian Church; an innovative multi-site missional church with nine locations locally that have grown in average attendance from 5 to over 5,500 since it's beginning 20 years ago.  CCC empowers over 800 lay leaders to oversee difference-making ministry throughout Chicagoland.  Dave is the visionary and Movement Leader for the NewThing Network whose passion is “to be a catalyst for a movement of reproducing churches relentlessly dedicated to helping people find their way back to God.” 
Dave is also an adjunct professor at Wheaton College Graduate School where he teaches a course on “Planting and Growing Reproducing Churches” in the evangelism and leadership department. 
In the last couple years Dave has spoken at main sessions in front of tens of thousands of church leaders at events both nationally and internationally including the Exponential Conferences (3,000), Saddleback Summit (5,000), Multi-Site Church Conferences (400-800), Onnuri Leadership Conferences (18,000), North American Christian Convention (4,000), ChurchPlanters.com Conference (500), Sticky Church Conference (500), National Outreach Convention (2,000) and more.  He also serves as the President of the Exponential Conference and on the National Board of Directors for the Exponential Network.  Dave is one of the founders and board members for the Institute for Community. After earning a B.A in Christian Ministries from Lincoln Christian College he graduated with a M.A. from Wheaton Graduate School. Dave is the co-author of The BIG IDEA – Focus the Message, Maximize the Impact published by Zondervan in 2007 and his new book Exponential: How you and your friends can start a missional church movement to be released this spring. Michael Vickery
Michael Vickery graduated from Northwestern University's School of Education and Social Policy in 1989. He joined the Institute For Community as its first salaried employee in 1997, developing many of the technologies and teaching programs used by the IFC to create genuine community. In 2004, Michael received the prestigious Jefferson Award from the American Institute For Public Service, founded by Jacqueline Kennedy. In 2005, the Friendship Centre at HighPoint Community in Romeoville, IL, brought the village its first ever Governor's HomeTown Award for community programming. Michael participates in community activities through volunteerism and leadership with his wife, Sondra, their four daughters, and two dogs at the Friendship Centre at HighPoint, an IFC managed community.

Nick Ryan
 
Mr. Ryan is the President of Marquette Property Investments and a Partner in the family of 8 Marquette Companies. During a 30 year real estate career, Mr. Ryan has designed, developed and operated more than $ 1 billion worth of residential and mixed-use properties, including market rate and tax credit apartments, senior housing and inter-generational communities. Mr. Ryan co-founded the Marquette Companies in 1983, which currently has over 300 employees. In 1994 Mr. Ryan co-founded Kensington/Marquette Partners, LLC, which has subsequently acquired and operated more than $500 million of apartment assets on behalf of separate account clients. Mr. Ryan graduated from Rose-Hillman Institute of Technology, with a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering. Mr. Ryan currently serves as a board member of the National Multi-Housing Council, the Institute for Community, and the American Senior Housing Association. He is also a member of the Pension Real Estate Association.

Jon Ferguson

Jon Ferguson is co-founder of Community Christian Church, a reproducing church with 11 locations in the Chicago area.  He serves as teaching pastor and leads the team of staff champions for adult, student, children’s, and creative arts ministries across all Community locations.  Jon is also the co-founder and Movement Architect of NewThing whose mission is to be a catalyst for a movement of reproducing churches. 

Jon is the co-founder and serves on the Board of Directors for the Institute for Community, as well as Stadia and the Exponential Church Planting Network.

After co-authoring The Big Idea – Aligning the Ministries of Your Church Through Creative Collaboration and Exponential – How You and Your Friends Can Start a Missional Church Movement, his next adventure will move him and his family to the heart of Chicago to lead in the launch of three new church sites in the city.

Perry Bigelow

Perry's intense desire to use respectfully God's gift of the earth is the basis of his community development philosophy. He is the founder of Bigelow Homes, which received the most historic and prestigious award in the American housing industry from Professional Builder magazine in 2005. Each year Professional Builder chooses one builder in the United States as its “Builder of the Year” who most represents replicable ideas that can be emulated by other builders. Bigelow Homes was selected for “Doing Good by Doing Right”. Perry was "Energy Builder of the Year" for eight consecutive years from the Chicago Sun Times. He has been featured twice on public television's "This Old House." Bigelow Homes is currently developing HomeTown in Aurora, IL, a spiritually, culturally and environmentally sustainable community of 1300 homes located in nine real neighborhoods. He is perhaps best known for guaranteeing heating bills on his homes throughout Chicagoland for the last 25 years.


Born in Michigan and raised in Florida, Perry received a B. A. in Mathematics from Taylor University and a B. S. in Civil Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology. He earned a Master of Business Administration from Ohio State University. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Energy Environmental Building Association and an Adjunct Professor, Housing and Urban Development, Eastern University Graduate School of Business.


Troy E. McMahon
Troy serves as a resource to many new Campus Pastors. Troy’s other projects include:

Leader of Future Facility Task Force in acquiring property for permanent facility in Naperville

Leader of initial capital stewardship campaign. Commitments exceeded $2.0MM, income exceeded $2.2MM over three years.

Project Manager for facility design, development and construction of North Campus facility in Naperville.

Bruno Bottarelli

An architect by profession, Mr. Bottarelli brings strategic planning and vision to the executive team. During his 28-year career, Mr. Bottarelli has designed and developed nearly $1 billion in real estate throughout the Midwest.

He is co-founder of the Marquette Companies, and a principal of Kensington/Marquette Partners and KMF Senior Housing Investors, and serves as a national advisor to community developers and church-based organizations. He and his wife Judy have been married for 37 years and are blessed with 2 grown sons, one daughter-in-law and 2 granddaughters.

Mr. Bottarelli is a staunch conservative who believes that localism and decentralized government are central to our freedoms and for "genuine community" to thrive. The design and development of neighborhoods support community actions while "a church in every neighborhood" provides the "moral compass" that directs a community culture. Healthy neighborhoods are those that integrate the physical, spiritual and civic needs of the community they serve.

A graduate from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor of Science degree in architecture, Mr. Bottarelli is a founder of the Institute for Community. He is past President of the Apartment Council of Greater Chicago, the NET Collaborative, a currently serves as a Director of the National Town Builders Association and member of the American Institute of Architects.

Scott Knollenberg

Scott Knollenberg moved into HighPoint Community in 1998 and fell in love with the community.  By that time, he earned a BS from Illinois State University and a MS from The University of Michigan.  Scott left his Caterpillar job in 2005 to join the team at Community Christian Church.  He currently serves as the Campus Pastor at the Romeoville location and is passionate about community development to ultimately reach the local neighborhood for Jesus .  Scott loves his wife Michelle and daughter Chloe Grace.

Background:

Bob was elected to the Lockport City Council in 2007 and his current assignments include urban planning and Downtown redevelopment.  Bob has worked as a staff architect for R.J. Brejcha & Associates and was a Senior Associate and Project Manager for Healy, Bender & Associates, Inc.  Currently he is the owner and President of Orbis Architects and is the proud father of his teenage daughter Hannah.

Educational History:

Bob earned his Bachelors in Architectural Studies and Masters of Architecture from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.  He has also attended the Les Ecole Des Beauxs Arts in Paris, France and is a  Licensed Architect and Registered Interior Designer in the State of Illinois.

Volunteer Activities:

Bob has shared his time and talents on the Department of Architecture Advisory Board at Joliet Junior College and the College of DuPage.  He has volunteered for the Heritage and Architecture Commission for the past two decades and is on the Board of Directors for the Institute for Community and Lockport Chamber of Commerce.

 
Sondra Vickery

Sondra Vickery graduated from Northwestern University’s School of Speech with  Bachelor of Arts Degree in Radio, TV, and Film. Interrupting a successful career as a producer, reporter and anchor for media outlets such as the Loop AM1000, Fox-TV Chicago, and ABC in Louisville, KY, Sondra turned to her family as she had the first of four beautiful daughters beginning in 1997. While taking care of a large family, Sondra stays in touch with her media roots by producing worship services for her church and assisting with public relations coordination at the IFC. She also volunteers extensively in the community through the local school and Friendship Centre at HighPoint. Vowing to return to the media spotlight someday, Sondra revels in the opportunity she has to serve God, her family, and community.

Wayne Kahn

 

Wayne Kahn was born and raised in Chicago and went on to attend Columbia College majoring in Broadcasting, He went on to work for Cox Broadcasting out of Atlanta GA and was fortunate to have a radio program for 2 years. He was then offered a celebrity talk show that aired in the Chicagoland area for 4 years. From there he went into marketing and advertising and worked with Abbott Laboratories rolling out promotions for new drugs, he spent 20 years doing that.  Then he decided to take a chance and opened his own company specializing in advertising, promotions and wearables.  After building the business he had a offer to sell and took the offer.

His passions are GOD, serving in the community ,dogs which he has two (Addie and Sheffield).  Addie is a therapy dog and visits nursing homes and hospitals. My other passion is the love of food I review restaurants, food trends and chefs.  I am in the process of writing food blog.  His personal mission is to make a difference in peoples lives.
